What a wild weekend we have had here in Singleton. Its been crazy with all the rain and wind and now we are just at the end of a HUGE flood. It was been the biggest in 50yrs and I don't want to ever see another one again. Just the smell after the water has gone is BAD. Everything is muddy and I feel sorry for all the houses that were hit the hardest. We are lucky as we live at the Heights and Nathan and I are lucky to have bought our new house at the Heights too. We get the keys on Monday and am very happy that we didn't buy down town in the worst hit areas. I have been hearing some wild stories from the residents around town. One lady even said that she was standing next to a storm water drain, watching the flood and huge rats, spiders and snakes come up and out of the drain, then the water came. She said it was like something out of a horror movie. I am glad I was not there to see that. We went for a drive today to see the total effect of the flood and we were really surprised at how much it had damaged the area. As we were driving along one road, the tar had actually been ripped of the road by the current of the water and their were piles of tar on the side of the road. Its just wild. I am going to post some pictures of the Singleton Area, so everyone can see just how bad it was.
